The beach music festival is sponsored by the Wythe Arts Council as a fund-raiser for the annual nine-day Chautauqua Festival. This year's festival was held last month.
Performers will include The Fabulous Collegians, Breeze Band, Fabulous Kays and The Entertainers.
Hundreds of giveaways, including mugs, sunglasses, visors and shorts, will be tossed to the audience. Coke, pizza and beer will be on sale. The articles are made available through Miller Brewing Co., Domino's Pizza, Banana Boat Sun Products and Radio Superstation J104.
J104 and Beach 106, a beach music station serving the Carolinas, will provide disc jockeys. Phil Kare of Beach 106 will be master of ceremonies.
Tickets are $10. They can be bought at nearby Domino's Pizza outlets or at the gate.
The Fabulous Collegians play beach and soul music. They also do melody routines, including some made famous by Sam Cooke. They have been entertaining for 20 years.
Lead vocalist Dink Perry formed the original Breeze Band in 1980. He left it in 1991 and formed a partnership with four ex-members of The Entertainers as the new Breeze Band, specializing in beach music and Clarence Carter melodies.
The Entertainers scored their first hit, "Living for the Summer," in 1980 and have released several albums. The Fabulous Kays were introduced in 1979.
