JOHN S. D'ORAZIO has been named superintendent of distribution at Roanoke Gas Co. His duties include supervision of new construction, facility maintenance and maintenance of the distribution system.
A civil engineer, D'Orazio has worked in engineering for 11 years. He previously worked for Virginia Natural Gas, Smith, DeMeer, Normann Civil Consulting Engineering and Baltimore Gas & Electric Co.
He is a graduate of Virginia Tech.

\ DR. WILLIAM H. WALLS JR. has joined the Roanoke city Health Department as a public health dentist.
Walls, who has spent the past four years in association with the Pulaski County Health Department, plans to concentrate on child dental care as well as providing treatment to indigent adults.
Walls is a graduate of Howard University and the School of Dentistry at the Medical College of Virginia.

\ JAN R. SCHENDEL has joined Junior Achievement of Southwest Virginia as marketing manager. She will be responsible for recruiting qualified volunteer consultants to work with Junior Achievement students in classrooms from kindergarten through 12th grade. She will also market and coordinate the organizations' special events and the promotion of the new elementary school programs. She formerly worked as director of marketing and development for the Topeka Performing Arts Center in Topeka, Kan.
\ ALLAN C. ROBINSON JR. has been elected president of the Clean Valley Council, a nonprofit educational organization that promotes litter control, recycling and waste minimization. Robinson is retired from Kroger Co. and has served on the CVC board for three years.

\ BRUCE LUPTON of Roanoke has been appointed postmaster of Collinsville. An employee since 1969, he has worked as a letter carrier and supervisor of mails and delivery in Martinsville and manager of station and branch operations in Roanoke.
