Virginia Elizabeth Bird, of Wytheville, Va., and David Waldron Fitts, III,
of Sudbury, Ma., were married April 24, 1993, in Wytheville. Dr. Charles
Burnett and Dr. James E. McEldowney, of Bradenton, Fla., grandfather of the
bride, performed the ceremony. Jeannie Purcell, of Alexandria, Va., college
roommate, was the bridal attendant. The best man was Todd Wallingford, of
Gloucester, Ma., best friend of the groom. The bride is a daughter of The
Honorable and Mrs. Daniel T. Bird, Jr., of Wytheville, and is the
granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Woodrow Bird, of Bland, Va., and Dr. and Mrs.
James McEldowney, of Bradenton, Fla. She graduated from George Wythe High
School and Virginia Tech and is employed by Kraft Foodservice in Philadelphia,
Pa. The groom is the a son of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Fitts, of Sudbury, Ma. He
graduated from Lincoln-Sudbury High School and the University of Vermont and
is employed by Pepsi-Cola in West Chester, Pa. The newlyweds will live in West
Chester, Pa.
