MCNEIL-NEWBILL

Susannah Wills Newbill and Jerry Paul McNeil were united in marriage on Monday, July 5, at First United Methodist Church at Salem.

The ceremony was performed by Rev. Thomas L. Joyce. A program of wedding music was presented by Jim Paxton.

The bride is the daughter of Nancy E. Hamlin of Rocky Mount and Jack H. Newbill of Wirtz. The bridegroom is the son of Mrs. Nelle H. McNeil and the late Mr. Paul J. McNeil.

The bride, give in marriage by her father, wore a gown of ivory lace with a fitted bodice, off-the-shoulder collar, sequinned overlay skirt, and matching train edged with antique ivory lace. She carried a bouquet of ivory roses, lilies, statice and daisies.

Elizabeth Newbill, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Thomas H. McNeil, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. Mark Newbill, brother of the bride, was the candlelighter. Mark Newbill and Chris Hoover were greeters for the guests.

Wedding guest were entertained following the ceremony with a reception at Hidden Valley Country Club in Salem.

The bride is a graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and is employed by the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

The bridegroom is a graduate of East Tennessee State University and is the controller for Fontaine Fifth Wheel Company.

After a late summer European honeymoon, the couple will reside in Birmingham, Alabama.
