MORE STUDENT AID COMING TO NRCC

A larger allotment of state funding is available for the fall semester at New River Community College for students who need financial aid to begin or continue their formal education. The usual $9.75 application fee for financial aid is no longer required.

A Part-Time Tuition-Assistance Program has been established for eligible students who enroll for three to five credits, and because of their less than half-time enrollment status, have not qualified for other forms of financial aid.

Application processes take approximately six weeks.

"We really encourage students to apply for the programs now," says Joe Sheffey, financial aid coordinator. "Students who don't get an early start may not receive the same awards as those who do."

Further details concerning specific financial aid and scholarship programs and eligibility requirements may be obtained by calling the financial aid office at 674-3615.
