OBIT PERDUE, BONNIE SMITH
PERDUE, Bonnie Smith, 75, of Blacksburg, died Thursday, July 15, 1993, at
Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Perdue was born in Montgomery County on
December 1, 1917, to the late Ernest Garland and Emily Houston Smith. She was
a retired employee in the Food Service Department at VA Tech. She was preceded
in death by her husband, Charles Edward Perdue; one grandchild, Billy Wayne
Tuck; and one great-grandchild, Stephanie Renee Tuck. Surviving are five
daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and William J. Tuck, Polly P. Myers, Penny
and Richard Martin, all of Blacksburg, Patsy A. Perdue, New Castle, Donna and
Mike Bandy, Richmond; three sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Michelle
Perdue, Visalia, Calif., David and Cindy Perdue, Garland J. Perdue, all of
Blacksburg; one sister, Frances Albert, Pearisburg; one brother, Willard
Smith, Richmond; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. Funeral
services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 19, at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel
with the Rev. B. Lloyd Baldwin officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn
Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to
Diabetes Association, 404 8th Street, NE, Charlottesville, VA 22902, or the
American Heart Association, care of Dominion Bank, Attn: Donna Miller, 1204 S.
Main Street, Blacksburg, Va. 24060. The family will receive friends Sunday
from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
