CORNERING THE MARKET ON GOODIES
I AM CONTINUALLY surprised by people who say they never go downtown to our
Farmer's Market. They have no idea what a treat they are missing. From the
arrival of spring flowers through summer's delicious tree-ripened fruits and
just-picked vegetables, autumn's harvests and the live Christmas decorations,
there is always so much happening there. In addition, you have the chance to
know and support the friendly, hard-working people who supply all this
bounty.
This year, there is an additional reason to go. It will be the last summer
for Marlene Grisso to sell Mountain Top Orchard's wonderful peaches,
nectarines, plums, apples, etc. What a void there will be when this delightful
lady retires from that usual corner.
