OBIT PERDUE, ALTHEA WADE
PERDUE, Althea Wade, 50, of Roanoke, passed away Friday, July 16, 1993, at
her home, after a brief illness. She is survived by her beloved husband,
Robert Perdue; her father, James H. Wade and wife, Gracie, all of Roanoke; her
mother, Hazel Polite and husband, Bobby; two sisters, Roosevelt E. Scott, and
Marva Wade, all of New York; six brothers, Robert Wade, Guam, Dennis Wade,
Washington, D.C., James O. Wade, Eric N. Wade, Vincent N. Wade, and Fred I.
Wade, all of Roanoke; two devoted aunts, Lottie Keeling, Gladiola Walthall;
devoted friends, Rudy Finney, Mrs. Juanita Dortch; aunts, Nannie Bowens,
Evelyn Croan, Vashti Hunter; uncles, Elder Walter Wade and wife, Ella, all of
Roanoke, James P. Swain, Bedford, Giles E. Swain and wife, Katie, Hardy.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 2 p.m. at Hamlar-Curtis Chapel with
Dr. J. Eugene Young officiating, with burial in the Swain Family Cemetery,
Hardy. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral
Home. The procession will form at the Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, for
the service. Arrangements by Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home.
