OBIT HOSTETTER, JAMES E.
HOSTETTER, James E. (`Bunk'), 67, of Lexington, died Friday, July 16, 1993,
in the Stonewall Jackson Hospital. Mr. Hostetter was born March 19, 1926, in
Rockbridge County, a son of the late Herbert Kyle Hostetter and Myrtle Knick
Hostetter. He was a member of the Poplar Hill Presbyterian Church and retired
from the Columbia Gas Transmission Corporation. Surviving are his wife, Gracie
Conner Hostetter; three daughters, Gail H. Swink, Carolyn H. Thompson and
Mitsy H. Leslie, all of Lexington; one son, James (Butch) Hostetter Jr. of
Charlotte, N.C.; three sisters, Clara Ayers, Stella Higgins, both of Lexington
and Loraine Barger of Buena Vista; two brothers, Carl Hostetter and Curtis
Hostetter, both of Lexington; nine grandchildren. Funeral services will be
conducted 2 p.m. Monday, July 19, 1993, at the Harrison Funeral Chapel with
the Rev. Zeb Carson Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the New
Monmouth Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the
Leukemia Society, 1310 Colonial Road, NW, Roanoke, VA, or the Rockbridge Area
Hospice, P. O. Box 948, Lexington, VA. The family will receive friends on
Sunday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Harrison Funeral Home, Lexington.
