POWERS, Lorene B. 67, of Chamblissburg, died Saturday, July 17, 1993. Mrs.
Powers was a member of Beaverdam Baptist Church and a co-founder and
secretary/treasurer of Powers Tractor & Equipment Company, Route 24 East,
Vinton. She is survived by her husband, J. Henry Powers; two sons and
daughter-in-law, John H. Powers Jr. of Chamblissburg and Jeffrey M. and Karen
E. Powers of Moneta; one daughter and son-in-law, Joan P. and John F. Turner
of Roanoke; two brothers, R. Wilson Booth of Roanoke and Buford C. Booth of
Hardy; two sisters, Virginia B. Hollins of Greensboro, N.C. and Geneva B.
Dillon of Vinton; two sisters-in-law, Cathlyn R. Booth of Goodview and Nellie
P. Booth of Hardy; three grandchildren, Joel Turner, Jo Beth Turner and Joy A.
Powers. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 20, 1993, at 2 p.m. at
Beaverdam Baptist Church, Chamblissburg, with the Rev. Dennis E. Moore and the
Rev. Elmer Sellers officiating. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Beaverdam Baptist Church Building Fund
or the Chamblissburg Rescue Squad. Friends may call at the Lotz Vinton
Chapel.
