APPALACHIAN POWER CO.

Appalachian Power Co., the Roanoke-based electric utility, said Monday it earned $14.2 million in the second quarter, 2.3 percent less that $14.5 million in the same period of 1992. Operating revenues rose 7.1 percent to $340.6 million in this year's quarter, compared with $317.9 million a year earlier.
