GM SETTLES DISPUTE OVER TRUCK FUEL TANKS

General Motors Corp. said Monday it would give $1,000 certificates good toward purchase of new GM trucks to owners of pickups with controversial side-mounted fuel tanks.

There are an estimated 5 million to 6 million of the trucks still in service. It's unclear how many people will redeem the certificates, which will be distributed between Thanksgiving and Christmas. - Associated Press
