OBIT PERDUE, ALTHEA WADE

PERDUE, Althea Wade, 50, of Roanoke, passed away Friday, July 16, 1993, at her home, after a brief illness. She is survived by her beloved husband, Robert Perdue; her father, James H. Wade and wife, Gracie, all of Roanoke; her mother, Hazel Polite and husband, Bobby; two sisters, Rosevelt E. Scott and husband Robert, and Marva Wade, all of New York; six brothers, Robert Wade and wife, Ing of Guam, Dennis Wade and wife, Pat of Washington, D.C., James O. Wade, Eric N. Wade, Vincent N. Wade, and Fred I. Wade, all of Roanoke; four sisters-in-law, Carolyn McGhee, Evelyn Smith and Brenda Perdue, all of Roanoke, Constance Perdue, Hardy, Va.; one brother-in-law, Theron Swain, Roanoke; two devoted aunts, Lottie Keeling, Gladiola Walthall; devoted friends, Rudy Finney, Mrs. Juanita Dortch; aunts, Nannie Bowens, Evelyn Croan, Vashti Hunter; uncles, Elder Walter Wade and wife, Ella, all of Roanoke, James P. Swain, Bedford, Giles E. Swain and wife, Katie, Hardy. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 2 p.m. at Hamlar-Curtis Chapel with Dr. J. Eugene Young officiating, with burial in the Swain Family Cemetery, Hardy. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home. The procession will form at the Funeral Home at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, for the service. Arrangements by Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Home.
