OBIT TURPIN, LOGAN ARDELLA
TURPIN, Logan Ardella, of Roanoke, formerly of Buchanan, died Friday, July
16, 1993, in Lewis Gale Hospital, Salem, following a brief illness. She was
the daughter of the late Mr. Charlie and Esther Logan, Buchanan, where she was
a member of the First Baptist Church. She is survived by four sons, Andrew
Turpin, San Bernardino, Calif., Edward Turpin, Washington, D.C., Lindsey
Turpin, Fort Worth, Texas, and Charles Turpin, Roanoke; five daughters,
Margaret Turpin, Roanoke, Valerie Johnson, East Orange, N.J., Janet Pannell,
Roanoke, Jane Smith, Los Angeles, Calif. and Adriane Turpin, Roanoke; 21
grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson; one
sister, Esther Godfrey, Bronx, N.Y.; brother-in-law, John Godfrey;
sister-in-law, Lillian Logan, Buchanan; son-in-law, Percy Pannell Jr.,
Roanoke; daughter-in-law, Faye Turpin, Fort Worth, Texas; two aunts, Cornelius
Hughes, Danville; Bessie Wade, Buchanan; three nieces, and four nephews, a
host of relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday, First
Baptist Church, Buchanan, Va. with Rev. Donald K. Clayborne officiating.
Interment will be in Mt. View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7
to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Rader's in Buchanan.
