OBIT WILLIAMS, OLEN

WILLIAMS, Olen, 83, of Bedford, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 1993, in the Bedford County Memorial Hospital. He was born January 2, 1910 in Burnsville, N.C., a son of the late John Williams and Estelle McClellan Williams. He was a retired carpenter and was a member of the Bedford Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife, Mary Bortmas Williams; two daughters, James T. and Virginia W. Rives, Norfolk; James D. and Mary Irene McKinley, South Beriwick, Maine; two granddaughters, Cassie Joy Swope, Christie Dawn Swope, Virginia Beach. Graveside services will be conducted Friday, July 23, 1993 at 2 p.m. from the Virginia Memorial Park, by Rev. Francis C. Avery. The family will receive friends today from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. at Updike Funeral Home, Bedford. The family requests that those wishing to make memorials consider the American Cancer Society.
