The auxiliary also received awards during the Medical Society of Virginia Alliance's recent annual meeting.
The Roanoke group won two awards for contributions to the American Medical Association/Education and Research Foundation and an award for best new project for its Doctor's Day Recognition Pear Project. The auxiliary also received honorable mention for its breast cancer seminar.
Several members from the auxiliary were selected to serve in state-level positions with the Alliance. Gwen Hauser will serve as Western Region vice president, Nina Widmeyer as corresponding secretary, Carol White as historian and Eileen Harris as parliamentarian. Carol Lougheed is serving a second term as field director for the American Medical Association Alliance.
