"The Changing Face of the Christian Family" will be the theme of a series of services Sunday through Thursday at Antioch Church of the Brethren on Virginia 641 near Callaway. Speaking Sunday at 11 a.m. and nightly at 7:30 will be the Rev. David B. Rittenhouse of Pocahontas County, W.Va. Moderator of the Shenandoah District of the Church of the Brethren, Rittenhouse serves four small churches on a bi-vocational basis. Special music by community groups is planned. \ Ecumenical events
Registration is open for three ecumenical events at the Phoebe Needles Retreat Center in Franklin County.
"Reflections '93," a 20-hour retreat for people who are unemployed or in transition in their careers, is scheduled Sept. 17 and 18.
On Sept. 24-25 the Rev. Dr. Elizabeth Canham, director of Stillpoint Ministries, will lead an overnight spiritual growth retreat based on the teachings and practices of Hildegard of Bingen, a German mystic of the late medieval period.
Monthly gatherings on Tuesdays and Saturdays for men and women wishing to deepen their sense of closeness to God will be resumed Sept. 11.
