OBIT WOOD, AUBREY L.

WOOD, Aubrey L., 84, of Buena Vista, died Wednesday, July 21, 1993. He went home to be with his Lord late Wednesday night, after a long illness. He was the son of the late Henry Wood and Kate B. Wood. He was born in Amherst County, December 8, 1908. He was a member of the Buena Vista Baptist Church and former member of Buena Vista Fire Dept. He was a retired supervisor of Bernson Mills. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Huffman Wood. He is survived by one daughter, Anna Jane W. Thomas of Buena Vista; two sisters, Annie W. Thompson and Ruth W. Copper, both of Buena Vista; two special friends, Mildred Lynn and Lois Roberts; one special nephew, Stockton Moore; and a number of other nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted Saturday, July 24, 1993, 2 p.m. at Calvary Brethren Church with Pastor Kenneth Teague and Larry Coleman officiating. Burial will follow at the Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Bolling, Grose & Lotts Funeral Service, and other times at the home, 110 Linden Circle.
