Lephew is a vice president at the bank and is economic development chairman for Pulaski Main Street. He also is president-elect of the Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce, treasurer of the Salvation Army, a member of the local advisory board of Habitat for Humanity and of Rotary Club.
\ WELDON "JAKE" SHAFFER III, M.D., a board-eligible specialist in obstetrics and gynecology, will join the active medical staff at Pulaski Community Hospital on Aug. 2. His office will be in the Pulaski Medical Arts Building at 101 First St. Shaffer received his medical degree from Temple University in Philadelphia and spent four years in residence at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
\ JOHN KENNETH RUSSELL and JONATHAN EDWARD PEACE of Lillys' Jewelers, New River Valley Mall, have completed the Diamond Council of America's course in diamontology. Russell is manager and Peace assistant manager at the store.
\ STEVIE LYNNE, afternoon drive air personality at WVVV 105-FM, has been promoted to music director. Lynne has been in radio for six years and with WVVV ROCK 105 for the past two years.
\ JOHN ERIC ANDERSON of JA Design in Blacksburg participated in a panel on "Technology Know-How in Universities: Resource Potential for Entrepreneurs." The panel, on the transfer of technology, took place at the Third Biennial High Technology Management Conference at the University of Colorado.
