BLACKSBURG TRANSIT DRIVERS ARE WINNERS

A team of four Blacksburg Transit drivers captured first place at the Virginia State Transit Roadeo recently in Richmond. Jim Higham, Mike Furrow, John Hopler and Robert Clark competed in the written test, appearance review and practical performance.

The drivers were judged on safety, precision and smoothness while navigating an obstacle course with passenger stops, a serpentine, reverses and a judgment stop. This is the third year since 1990 that Blacksburg drivers have come away from the roadeo in first place.
