OBIT BRYANT, DOROTHY THORNTON
BRYANT, Dorothy Thornton, of Roanoke, died Friday, July 23, 1993. She was a
member of Villa Heights Baptist Church and was a former employee of Dillard
Paper Company. Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Gordon T. Bryant; one
daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca B. and Larry D. Kiser of Salem; one
granddaughter, Alexandra T. Kiser; two sisters, Mrs. Mabel T. Colwell of
Roanoke and Mrs. Etta T. Harris of Forest; one brother and sister-in-law,
Roland L. and Louise Tyler Thornton of Joppatowne, Md.; a special niece,
Frances `Pat` Shelton; many nieces, nephews and close friends. Funeral
services will be at Oakey's South Chapel at 11 a.m. Monday, with the Rev. J.
Landon Maddex and the Rev. Harold Lewis officiating. Interment will follow in
Sherwood Memorial Park. It is suggested that in lieu of flowers, memorials be
made to the Cave Spring Rescue Squad. The family will receive friends at
Oakey's South Chapel from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
