OBIT O'CONNOR, JAMES EDWARD SR.

O'CONNOR, James Edward Sr., 74, of Roanoke, died Friday, July 23, 1993, at his home. He was a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church, was retired from the U. S. Postal Service and was a former employee of the Colonial American National Bank. He served in the Army Medical Corps during World War II. Surviving are his wife, Becky Angle O'Connor of Roanoke; three sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Wesley and Kathy Viers O'Connor of Bristol, Tenn., Kevin D. and Sharon R. O'Connor of Goodview, James E. Jr. and Lori O'Connor of Roanoke; one sister, Sister Eileen O'Connor of Wheeling, W.Va.; one brother, Michael T. O'Connor of Bluefield, W.Va.; five grandchildren, Rebecca O'Connor, Meghan O'Connor, Adam Beck, Sean O'Connor and Colin O'Connor. Funeral services will be conducted at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel at 12 noon Monday by the Rev. James E. Park. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. A prayer service will be conducted at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel at 7:30 p.m. Sunday. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the American Lung Association, or a favorite charity. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel where the family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday.
