OBIT GEORGE, EFFIE M.

GEORGE, Effie M., of Roanoke, died Sunday, July 25, 1993 in a local Roanoke hospital. She was the co-owner of Roma Restaurant and George's Drive In. Surviving are her husband George D. George; four children, Adell Shockley, Charles George, George D. George Jr., James M. George, all of Roanoke; one brother Michael Mackor; two sisters, Emily Mackor, Marie Cyr, all of Andover, Mass.; four grandchildren, David George, Logan George, Effie Shockley, Emily Shockley. A prayer service will be conducted at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel at 7:30 p.m. Monday. Funeral services will be conducted at St. Elias Catholic Church 11 a.m. Tuesday by Msgr. Assad Awad and Father James E. Parke. Burial will be in St. Andrews Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society. Friends may call at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
