OBIT DAVIS, WILLARD MARK, ("SMILEY")

DAVIS, Willard Mark, ("Smiley"), 64, of Moneta, passed away Sunday, July 25, 1993, at his residence. He was born April 27, 1929 in Blacksburg, a son of the late Ernest Davis and Susie Hodge Davis. He was a retired commercial carpenter and attended the Radford Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Anna Q. Davis; two daughters and sons-in-law, Gay and Wayne Ballard, Evington, Pat and Ricky Bobbitt, Moneta; three sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Wanda Davis, Roanoke, Larry and Janice Bond, Stuart, Mark Bond and his fiancee, Dawn Metcalf, Moneta; six brothers, Frank Davis, Roanoke, Ernest D. "Big June" Davis, Indiana, Ranny Davis, Richmond, Kenneth Davis, McArthur Davis, Douglas Davis, all of New Castle; three sisters, Elizabeth Thompson, Richmond, Aleene East, Maurestown, Va., Hazel Moore, Christiansburg; several special friends; 13 grandchildren, one great-grandson. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 28, 1993 at 11:00 a.m. from the Radford Baptist Church, by the Rev. Jim Carroll and Rev. Vernon DeLong. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends today from 7 to 9 p.m. at Updike Funeral Home, Bedford, and request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice, 4235 Colonial Avenue, S.W., Roanoke, VA 24018.
