OBIT COX, WILLIAM COY

COX, William Coy, 53, of Rt. 3, Bedford, died Tuesday, July 27, 1993, at his residence after a lengthy illness. He was born in Roanoke on November 30, 1939, a son of Dorothy Dudley Cox Rickman of Vinton and the late Earl Coy Cox. He was a representative for Drydene Oil Company and was a member of Quaker Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, James E. Dudley Sr. and Maude W. Dudley. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Todd B. and Stacy E. Cox of Tega Cay, S.C.; two daughters, Sheri Lynn Cox of Bedford, Michelle L. Cox of Savannah, Ga.; one brother and sister-in-law, Ricky L. and Annette D. Cox of Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, July 29, 1993, 2 p.m. at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Chapel with the Rev. R. Lewis Garst officiating. Burial will follow in Quaker Baptist Church Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by Carder-Tharp Funeral Home in Bedford.
