OBIT SIMMONS, LATHER D.

SIMMONS, Lather D., 91, of Dunlap Dr., Christiansburg, died Tuesday morning July 27, 1993, at his home. He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Carlyle B. and Dodie Simmons, Christiansburg; two daughters and sons-in-law, Evelyn and Tim Breth, Williamsville, N.Y., Eleanor and Charles Temple, Chester; a half sister, Lillian Walker, Christiansburg; a half brother, James Howery, Christiansburg; 10 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Friday from the Richardson-Horne Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Douglas Kanney with burial in Sunset Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the Christiansburg Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 176, Christiansburg, Va. 24073. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home.
