OBIT WILLIAMS, ALBERTA JANIE DIX
WILLIAMS, Alberta Janie Dix, 85, of Route 4, Wytheville, died Tuesday, July
27, 1993, at her residence. She was the daughter of the late Robert Harlow and
Stella King Dix. She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Williams;
grandson, Albert B. Davis, and great-granddaughter, Tammy Waine Davis. She is
survived by five daughters and sons-in-law, katherine and Jim Callahan of
Wytheville, Janie and Carl Harmon of Max Meadows, Bertha and Danny Underwood
of Draper, Ruby and Johnny Tickle of Draper, Edna and Ricky Parks of
Wytheville; six sons and five daughters-in-law, Bob and Agnes Williams of
Wytheville, Jim and Janie Williams of Rural Retreat, Lou Williams of
Speedwell, Joe and Jean Williams of North Ridgeville, Ohio, John and Dollie
Williams of Wytheville, George and Mary Ann Williams of Bluefield, W.Va.;
three sisters and one brother-in-law, Johnny and Wiley James, Charlotte Cook,
Lucille Gilbert, all of Wytheville; five sisters-in-law, Bertha Dix of
Crockett, Clara Mae Whitt of Wytheville, Mamie Williams of Glenburnie, Md.,
Marie Williams of Newbern, N.C., Lilian Williams of Elyria, Ohio; 33
grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and 7
stepgreat-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be Friday at 2
p.m. in the chapel of the Grubb Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Bob Peterson
and Rev. Willie Overton, with interment to follow in the St. John's Lutheran
Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Grubb Funeral Home Thursday
from 7 to 9 p.m. or at the home of Bob and Agnes Williams, Route 4, Wytheville
at anytime. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the St. John's
Lutheran Cemetery fund. The Grubb Funeral Home is in charge of the
arrangements.
