RELIGION BRIEFS

A SOUTHERN GOSPEL MUSIC CONCERT will be presented by Evelyn Conner on Sunday at 7 p.m. at the Fort Lewis Baptist Church, 4215 W. Main St., Salem.

\ FIRST EVANGELICAL METHODIST CHURCH, 1920 Lucas St. Salem, will hold vacation Bible school Monday through Aug. 6, from 6:45 until 8:30 p.m. For more information, contact the church at 387-0326.

\ THE NORTH VALLEY SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH, will be organized Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at 4909 North Lake Drive. Ralph W. Martin, president of the Potomac Conference of Adventists will speak at the 11 a.m. worship hour.

Saturday morning services convene each week with Sabbath school meeting at 9:25 a.m. followed by worship hour at 11 a.m. John W. McGraw is the pastor of the church.

\ THE REV. LONNIE BARNES, pastor of Westminister Presbyterian Church in America for more than a decade, has left to become director of Patrick Henry Boys Plantation near Brookneal. Currently the church is being served by Randy Farthing, minister of youth.
