RELIGION BRIEFS

COLONIAL BAPTIST CHURCH, 106 Hillcrest St., Blue Ridge, will hold neighborhood Bible time beginning at 7 p.m. each night Aug. 1-6. Classes are available for preschoolers through adults.

\ THE NORTH VALLEY SEVENTH-DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH, will be organized Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church at 4909 North Lake Drive. Ralph W. Martin, president of the Potomac Conference of Adventists will speak at the 11 a.m. worship hour.

Saturday morning services convene each week with Sabbath school meeting at 9:25 a.m. followed by worship hour at 11 a.m. John W. McGraw is the pastor of the church.

\ THE REV. LONNIE BARNES, pastor of Westminister Presbyterian Church in America for more than a decade, has left to become director of Patrick Henry Boys Plantation near Brookneal. Currently the church is being served by Randy Farthing, minister of youth.

\ GUIDING STAR CHURCH OF GOD IN CHRIST, 804 Madison Ave. N.W., has scheduled a Gospel Explosion concert Aug. 8 at 5 p.m. Sponsored by the Roanoke Community Choir, the event will feature L.D. Spears, Audrey Spears and the Sanctuary Choir of Martinsville.

\ THE PILGRIM BAPTIST CHURCH MALE CHORUS will celebrate its 20th anniversary on Saturday at 7 p.m. at the church, at 1415 Eighth St. N.W.

\ THE ROSE BUTLER BROWN MISSIONARY CIRCLE at Jerusalem Baptist Church, 1014 Norfolk Ave. S.W., will observe its annual missionary program on Sunday at 5 p.m. Choirs and speakers from surrounding areas will participate.
