MAKING WAY FOR THE MOTOR HOMES

Portions of the U.S. 460 by-pass around Blacksburg will be restricted to motor coach traffic part of the day Saturday, Sunday and Monday. All other vehicles will be detoured through downtown Blacksburg on U.S. 460 business.

Dan Brugh, resident engineer with the Department of Transportation, said the westbound lanes of the 460 bypass will close at 8 a.m. Saturday and Sunday and 9 a.m. Monday. They will reopen around 4 p.m. Saturday and about 3 p.m. Monday.

One eastbound lane of U.S. 460 by-pass will be reserved for motor coaches, but other traffic will be able to use the second lane.

Brugh said traffic from the Family Motor Coach Association convention on Virginia Tech's campus Aug. 3-5 could cause traffic delays on I-81 and I-77 as well as U.S. 460.
