The Roanoke County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday divided 3-2 on whether to give voters a chance to decide if the School Board should be appointed by the supervisors. Because information was edited out of a story Wednesday, it was left unclear why the board voted 4-1 in favpor of the proposal. Supervisor Harry Nickens opposed the plan, but voted for it so he can - if he chooses - bring the matter up for reconsideration at the next board meeting.
