LIVESTOCK EXHIBIT COMPETITION CHANGES

There's a big change for livestock exhibitors this year at the New River Valley Fair, which starts Monday and continues through Aug. 7 at the New River Valley Fairgrounds. This year, farm animal competition will be held every day of the fair.

Pulaski County Extension Agent Richard White says sheep and beef shows will begin Monday, instead of Wednesday as in past years, and will continue through Wednesday.

The dairy cattle and goat shows will follow Thursday through Saturday.

For the third year, the fair will hold an American Dairy Goat Association-sanctioned show.

Livestock parades have been scheduled for four nights before the main grandstand shows.
