Pulaski Furniture Corp. of Pulaski and Martinsville on Thursday reported third-quarter net income of $168,000, or 6 cents per share, up from $128,000, or 4 cents per share in the 1992 quarter. Net sales were $27.2 million against $24.1 million.
For the first 36 weeks of the fiscal year, net income was $1.6 million, or 55 cents per share, compared with $578,000, or 20 cents per share. Net sales were $87.4 million against $79.4 million.
ITT Corp.
ITT Corp., New York operator of a night-vision products plant and a gallium arsenide technology center in Roanoke County, on Thursday reported second-quarter net income was up 152 percent from the 1992 quarter, with all but one of the company's eight major businesses posting significantly improved operating results.
Net income for the quarter was $267 million, or $2.02 per share, compared to $106 million, or 75 cents per share in the 1992 quarter. Sales were $5.5 billion, up from $5.4 billion.
Net income for six months was $442 million, or $3.32 per share, compared to $244 million, or $1.75 per share, before the cumulative effect of two new accounting standards adopted in 1992.
