The Manassas School Board announced the firing early Thursday after parents and school officials testified that Corridy Rich was unable to control her classroom.
The deteriorating situation in her class put students in physical danger and contributed to low standardized test scores, parents and school officials said.
But Rich said her students for the last school year were unusually hyperactive and accused school officials of plotting her dismissal.
Near tears, Rich said parents were "vicious."
During the hearing, Rich denied she mistreated anyone and suggested she was being singled out for scrutiny as the only black teacher at her school.
