It seems that almost 20 years ago, the School Board and the town of Blacksburg agreed to swap some land adjacent to Blacksburg High School, but they never actually completed the deal.
The School Board will be asked to play catch-up by authorizing board Chairman Roy Vickers Jr. to execute the necessary paperwork.
The transactions date to early 1974. They include a 15-foot strip along the south side of Grove Avenue owned by the school division and two parcels on Patrick Henry Drive held by the town.
In other business at Tuesday's meeting, the board will hear a report on financial consolidation.
The School Board is considering a proposal, made in April by the County Administrator Betty Thomas' staff, that the county's and school system's finance and purchasing departments be merged.
The supervisors have expressed interest in the consolidation to improve accountability and efficiency in reporting county finances.
The School Board will meet Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. in the Montgomery County School Board Administrative Building, 200 Junkin St.
