BLACKSBURG BYPASS: MOTOR COACHES ONLY

Portions of the U.S. 460 bypass around Blacksburg will be restricted to motor coach traffic part of the day today, Sunday and Monday. All other vehicles will be detoured through downtown Blacksburg on U.S. 460 Business.

Dan Brugh, resident engineer with the Department of Transportation, said the westbound lanes of the 460 bypass will close at 8 a.m. today and Sunday and 9 a.m. Monday. They will reopen around 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and about 3 p.m. Monday.

One eastbound lane of the bypass will be reserved for motor coaches, but thru traffic will be able to use the second lane.

Brugh said traffic from the Family Motor Coach Association convention on Virginia Tech's campus Tuesday through Thursday could cause traffic delays on Interstate 81 and Interstate 77 as well as U.S. 460.
