Sarah Elizabeth Tyree and Richard Allen Goad were married July 24, 1993, in
Northview United Methodist Church. Dr. Carl E. Savage performed the ceremony.
The reception was held at Friendship Hall at Friendship Manor. The matron of
honor was Mrs. Lynn Obenchain, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Miss
Teresa Bowman, friend of the bride, Miss Kelly Martin, sister of the bride,
and Mrs.Cheryl Dolce, friend of the bride. The best man was Mr. Everett
Obenchain, friend of the groom. Ushers were Mr. Scot Franklin, friend of the
groom, Mr. Dennis Goad, brother of the groom, and Mr. Abe Dolce, friend of the
groom. Organist was Mr. John A. Myers, and vocalists were Mrs. Leigh Anderson
and Mr. John Keyser. The wedding director was Mrs. Mary Phelps. The guestbook
was attended by Mrs. Karen Grimm, aunt of the bride. The bride's gown was
bridal white satin with sequin and pearl beading in lace around the neckline
with clusters of roses throughout the dress, the skirt and train being
scalloped. The handmade headpiece had white lace and netting with a rose on
the back. She carried a bouquet of red and white roses. The bridesmaids wore
red satin tea length dresses with each carrying one white rose. The bride is a
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Web K. Martin, of Roanoke, Va., and Mr. and Mrs. Carl
R. Tyree, of Newport News, Va. She is employed by RMH and Friendship Manor as
an RN. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Houston E. Goad, of Roanoke, Va. He
is employed by Pizza Hut and will be attending Respiratory Therapy School in
September. After the wedding trip to Colonial Williamsburg and Virginia Beach,
the newlyweds will live in Roanoke, Va.
