CENTER SERVES RESIDENTS AS WELL AS VISITORS

The Roanoke Valley Information Center is designed for visitors, but also can serve as a resource for longtime residents looking for something different to do.

The center, at 114 Market St. in downtown Roanoke, is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is staffed by volunteers on weekdays and by regular staff on weekends.

Materials there for the picking range from a visitors guide to downtown Roanoke, complete with map, to a list of nearby hiking trails and their difficulty ratings. There also are brochures for places elsewhere in the state and some out-of-state materials.
