MEETING SCHOOL NEEDS IN BOTEOURT

Having lived in Botetourt County for more than 17 years, it's been my observation that, overall, people in the county get along quite well. It seems that the "south vs. north," "us vs. them," etc., specter is being raised by some as a means to achieve their own ends.

It is my hope that both the School Board and the Board of Supervisors will not allow the wants of a small (albeit strident) group to override their responsibility to continue working to meet the needs of the county as a whole.JULIA P. PATTERSONFINCASTLE
