OBIT RUSH, RUTH BROWN DURHAM

RUSH, Ruth Brown Durham, of Abingdon, died Saturday, July 31, 1993. She was a homemaker and an active member of the Pleasant View United Methodist Church. She was born in Giles County and was a daughter of the late James Franklin Durham and Lucretia Garfield Durham. Survivors include her husband, C. Jack Rush of Abingdon; two daughters, Beverly R. Ripley of Louisa and Pattie R. Jones of Abingdon; two sisters, Mrs. Harry Denton of Abingdon and Mrs. James Orfield of Abingdon; one granddaughter, Mrs. Larry (Dawn) Sullins of Abingdon; one great-grandson, Thomas E. Sullins of Abingdon. Graveside services for Mrs. Ruth Brown Durham Rush will be held in Forest Hills Memory Gardens at 7 p.m. Monday, with the Rev. Maurice Lay, the Rev. William Fowler and the Rev. Dr. Robert E. Lominack Jr. officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Jimmy Denton, Dr. Patrick C. Wallace, Dr. Robert W. Bechtel and Jonathan Jonas. Mrs. Rush requested no visitation and in lieu of flowers, tell someone you love them. The family will receive friends at the home of her grandchildren, 1118 Panorama Drive, Southview Estates, Abingdon. Arrangements by Campbell Funeral Home of Abingdon.
