OBIT BERRY, ROXIE HUMPHRIES

BERRY, Roxie Humphries, of Buena Vista, died Saturday, July 31, 1993, at her residence. She was born April 25, 1911 in Waynesboro, the daughter of the late Rev. Lewis G. and Anna Sampson Berry. She was a member of the Buena Vista Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie T. Berry Sr. Surviving are one daughter, Jane Camper, Buena Vista; four sons, David G. Berry, Jacksonville, Fla., Eddie T. Berry Jr., Buena Vista, Reginald A. Berry, Johnston, R.I., Stephen A. Berry, Colonial Heights; twelve grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two sisters, Thelma Thurston, Richmond, Hazel Wineberry, Henderson, N.C.; three brothers, Homer Humphries, Williamsburg, Elwood Humphries, Craigsville, Lewis Humphries, Buena Vista. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 3, 1993, at the Buena Vista Baptist Church with Dr. Chip L. Pendleton officiating. Interment will be in Rockbridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday, August 2, 1993, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Lomax Funeral Home.
