KING, Joe Pete, 56, of Check, passed away Monday, August 2, 1993, at his home. He is survived by his wife, Betty W. King, Check; his mother, Ora V. King, Check; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Phyllis K. Haislip, Atlanta, Ga., Linda and David Campbell, Salem; one nephew, John David Campbell, Salem; one niece, Heather Haislip, Atlanta, Ga.; one great-nephew, Derrick Campbell, Salem. Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 4, 2 p.m. at Gardner Funeral Chapel, with Elder Hale Terry and Rev. Richard Thomas officating. Interment in Restvale Cemetery. Friends may call after noon Tuesday at Gardner Funeral Home, where the family will be from 7 to 9 p.m.
