OBIT LIVESAY, RUBY ROBERTS
LIVESAY, Ruby Roberts, 77, of Independence, a resident of Waddell Nursing
Home, Galax, passed away Sunday, August 1, 1993, at the Waddell Nursing Home.
She was the widow of Edward Bryan Livesay. She was born September 7, 1915, in
Grayson County to Elbert Maiden and Essie Jane Cox Roberts. She was a member
of First United Methodist Church of Independence, Va. Surviving are a
daughter, Linda Livesay Murphy, Galax; a grandson, William Bryan Murphy,
Galax; two sisters, Hazel Sutherland, Elk Creek, Va., Ada Parsons, Bel Air,
Md.; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be
conducted Wednesday, August 4, 1993, at 2 p.m. in First United Methodist
Church, Independence, with the Rev. Brian T. Miller and Rev. Hugh Kilgore
officiating. Interment in Lebanon Cemetery, Elk Creek, Va. The body will
remain at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home and will be taken to the church thirty
minutes preceding service to lie in state. The family will receive friends at
the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Flowers will be appreciated, or
memorial contributions may be made to Memorial Fund of First United Methodist
Church, Independence, Va. or to Independence Rescue Squad, Independence, Va.
Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home, Independence, is in charge of arrangements.
