Ryan, who got his start as a dishwasher in the dining halls, moved through all of the supervisory responsibilities in Oklahoma State University food services. He manages the Food Service Center and is a School of Hotel and Restaurant Administration visiting instructor there.
Ryan received undergraduate and doctoral degrees from Oklahoma State. He began his career in college food services in 1977.
He replaces John Engstrom, who resigned from the culinary staff in April. Engstrom had been removed from the position in mid-December when an internal audit began after complaints were made against him.
