OBIT SIMMONS, JESSE MONROE

SIMMONS, Jesse Monroe, 75, of Roanoke, died Monday, August 2, 1993. He was retired from Roanoke Electric Steel and is survived by his wife, Edith Mattie Simmons; son and daughter-in-law, Jack Lee and Sandra Simmons of Roanoke; daughter, Patricia Ann Brooks, Roanoke; adoptive sons, Dewey L. Bryant of Nevada and Larry W. Bryant of Roanoke; sister, Vauline Stump of Moneta; three grandsons, Milton G. Brooks, David A. Brooks, and Jesse D. Simmons. Funeral services will be noon Wednesday, by W. Wilson Jamison, minister and Rev. William M. Dixon, with burial in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Lotz Roanoke Chapel.
