OBIT ANGELL, JAMES CLYDE
ANGELL, James Clyde, 72, of Moneta, died Monday, August 2, 1993, in a
Roanoke hospital. He was born May 13, 1921 in Danville, Va., a son of the late
Frank James and Ila Burrell Angell. He was predeceased by a brother, Frank
James Angell Jr.; stepmother, Sarah Lila Jones Angell; stepbrother, Raymond E.
Angell. Mr. Angell worked a number of years for Rubatex Corporation and
retired from Angell's Meat Processing Plant in 1986. He was a veteran of World
War II; served in the U.S. Army's 25th Infantry Division. After surviving the
attack on Pearl Harbor, he served in the Pacific Theatre. Mr. Angell was a
long-time member of Emmaus United Methodist Church. He is survived by his
wife, Edna Adkins Angell; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Rebecca A. and
George E. Updike Jr., Bedford, Debora L. Angell, Lynchburg, Donna A. and W.
Michael Morgan, Vinton; Jamie A. and Randolph W. Rowland II, Roanoke; four
grandchildren, James M. and Angela M. Updike, Bedford, Christopher M. and
David J. Morgan, Vinton; two stepbrothers, Bennie G. Angell, Taylor, Michigan,
Robert L. Angell, Raleigh, N.C.; four stepsisters, Sandra Cheek, Danville,
Justine Gadsden, Reno, Nev., Nancy Pangrazzi, Westland, Mich., Shirley
Roberts, Lincoln Park, Mich. Funeral services will be at Oakey's Vinton
Chapel, 11 a.m. Thursday, August 5, 1993 with Rev. Walter Mason officiating
with interment in Mountain View Cemetery. Friends may call at Oakey's Vinton
Chapel, where the family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday.
