Klingenbeck (8-0) held the Bucs to four hits and one run in eight innings. The right-hander, Baltimore's fifth-round pick in the 1992 amateur draft, walked one and struck out seven.
Jon Farrell provided most of the offense for Salem (17-25), going 3-for-4 with a double and driving in the Bucs' run. Ramon Espinosa and Kevin Polcovich had the other hits, and Polcovich drew two walks.
Doug McConathy was hitting star for Northern Division-leading Frederick (26-15). The Keys' designated hitter went 3-for-5 with two RBI. Catcher Troy Tallman went 2-for-4.
Frederick roughed up Bucs starter Eric Parkinson. The right-hander gave up six runs - five earned - on nine hits and two walks in five innings.
\ BUCSHOT: The Bucs lost one of their top pitchers when Esteban Loaiza was called up to Class AA Carolina on Tuesday. The right-hander was 6-7 with a 3.39 ERA for Salem. Left-hander Sean Lawrence was promoted from Augusta of the South Atlantic League to take Loaiza's place on the roster.
