OBIT-CROFT, G. ASHBY

CROFT, G. Ashby, 83, of Route 2, Bedford, died Thursday, August 5, 1993, in Virginia Baptist Hospital. He was born in Bedford County on March 24, 1910, a son of the late John Andrew Croft and Myrtle Bell Wood Croft. He was a retired diesel mechanic and was a member of Longwood Avenue Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Helen Arrington Croft; a brother, Woodrow W. Croft; two sisters, Josephine C. DeWitt, Nettie C. Key, all of Bedford; a host of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, August 7, 1993, at 2 p.m. in Virginia Memorial Park with the Rev. Rex F. Adkins officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Home, Bedford.
