WENDY W. MOORE has joined The Foundation for Roanoke Valley as program assistant. Her responsibilities include administration of the foundation's office and support of its asset development and grant seeking and writing efforts.
Moore, a 1971 graduate of Roanoke College, was executive director of Roanoke Area Ministries, director of the Child Abuse Prevention Council, and president of the Junior League of Roanoke Valley. She has served on the boards of Family Service of Roanoke Valley, West End Community Center, Big Brothers/Big Sisters and YWCA. She was the Roanoke Jaycees Outstanding Young Woman of the Year in 1988.
The Foundation for Roanoke Valley administers a collection of individual endowment funds and resources given by local citizens to enhance and support the quality of life in the valley.
ACCOUNTING
\ F. FULTON GALER has become a partner in McLeod & Co., a Roanoke CPA firm. He was formerly a partner with KPMG Peat Marwick, providing specialized tax, estate, and financial planning services.
Brown, Edwards & Co. has promoted JASON A. HARTMAN, MARY ANNE MCELMURRAY, and DAVID A. PRUETT from supervisors to managers. As managers, the certified public accountants will assume full responsibility for large audit and tax assignments by the firm.
BANKING
\ JOSEPH V. JUDY JR. has joined Charter Federal Savings Bank as vice president in consumer lending at its downtown Roanoke office. Judy recently retired from Dominion Bank after 30 years' employment.

At Ferrum College MICHAEL NOVAK has been promoted to associate director of admissions and LESLIE SHIPP has been promoted to assistant director of admissions.
CONTRACTORS
Harris General & Mechanical Contractors of Radford has announced that RALPH T. WIRT will head its new engineering design department. Prior to joining Harris, Wirt was chief engineer at Radva Corp. in Radford for five years and was principal of Ralph Wirt Associates, Engineers & Architects in Wytheville for 15 years.

\ CAROLYN M. GOODSPEED, president of Goodspeed Learning Consultants, has associated herself with Carriage House Clinic.

\ BETH KATHRYN ROLAND has joined the law firm of Bounds & Dorsey as an associate. She is a member of the Roanoke, Virginia and American Bar Associations and the Virginia Women Attorneys Association.
MEDICINE
\ JOHN HEIL and STEVE STROSNIDER of the Lewis-Gale Clinic Department of Psychological Medicine are authors of recent publications. Heil's book, "Psychology of Sport Injury," is published by Human Kinetics Publishers and is for professionals who work with injured athletes. Strosnider is co-author of "Third Party Payments," an article marketed nationally by the American Counseling Association. It is designed to assist professional counselors in dealing with insurance companies.

\ EVELYN F. BRADSHAW, director of the Career Resource Center at Hollins College, was recently elected a state delegate-at-large to the Business and Professional Womens National Conference in Reno, Nev.
\ WILLIAM GABLE , manager of the Cave House Craft Shop in Abingdon, has been named executive director of the Virginia Artisans Business Development Association, a statewide trade association for crafts artisans, craft gallery and shop owners, educators, arts organizations and individuals desiring to support the craft arts. Gable will coordinate and promote the group's educational and marketing activities in Virginia.
\ RANDY THOMPSON of Farrell Pontiac in Salem and MIKE LIVENGOOD of Woodson Pontiac in Roanoke have been elected officers of the Performance Pontiac Dealers Advertising Association. Thompson has been elected vice president and Livengood has been elected treasurer of the group.

\ ALTON W. BOLT has been appointed president of Unique Merchandising Inc. in Troutville. Bolt will be responsible for account management and development of new business for the merchandise brokerage company. He formerly was employed with Transamerica Commercial Finance Corp. as account manager.
