RUSSELL-THURSTON
Ann Elizabeth Thurston and Dale Franklin Russell were married August 7,
1993, in New Testament Baptist Church with Dr. J. E. Edwards officiating. The
reception was held at the Church Fellowship Hall. The matron of honor was
Deborah T. Williams, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Amy Thurston,
sister-in-law of bride, Tammy Anderson and Melinda Sink. Flowergirl was
Kristen Elizabeth Thurston. The best man was Earl C. Russell, father of the
groom. Ushers were Jim Thurston, brother of bride, Tony Anderson and Chris
Hall. Guestbook was attended by Michelle Shephard. The bride wore a satin gown
accented with schiffli lace and pearls. She carried white roses accented with
ivy and pearls. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James R. Thurston,
Sr., of Vinton. She graduated from William Byrd High School and from Liberty
University and is self-employed as a professional Beauty Consultant. The groom
is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl C. Russell of Roanoke. He graduated from
William Fleming High School and Virginia Western Community College. He is
employed by Kinney Corporation. The newlyweds will live in Roanoke after a
wedding trip to North Carolina.
